Red Hook Discoveries

Talk about food and place! Los Vendedores is a cultural food celebration landscape. What obviously began as a way to feed spectators at the weekend soccer matches has turned into an incredible exchange of culture and food.

Corn guy is very happy. I'm trying this next weekend. Stay tuned.

Cocineros

El Salvadoran pupusas, corn tamale con crema, y platanos.

Urban Foragers

Horchata y mango con limon

We still had room...local Red Hook key lime pie!

Best food in NYC! We discovered it on a exploratory walk last year and raved to everyone we knew. SOooooooo delicious!!! And more fun than a barrelful of monkeys - which sounds more stressful than fun, anyway :)

The woeful-looking Urban Forager on the left, in the pink, is not. She's simply caught in a waffly moment of, What do I gobble down next? Trust me, I know. Red Hook was riveting, well worth the trek from Manhattan, not just for the food and the company and the happy ambience, but for the water, the view, and even for Fairway. We need our city to encourage more of this sort of thing, not less!!
